Consumer Complaints

Under United States law, consumers are grated with a range of rights that protect them. Sellers and other servicers that come in violation of these laws may be subject to legal punishment. So by law, any violation of consumer rights can be reported through a complaint, or more precisely, a consumer complaint. In order to file a complaint, consumers should look to 1 or more of 3 primary sources, which include the FTC, State Government, and private agencies. The FTC, or Federal Trade Commission, is a federal agency that is responsible for handling consumer issues through its bureau of consumer protection. For issues pertaining to companies, business practices, and identity theft, consumers can file their complaints through FTC, either online or offline. However, due to the large number of consumers, it is impossible for the FTC to deal directly with individual cases. This can make it essential for consumers to also file with their state government, who may be more directly concerned with each case, and hast he ability to offer individual attention. Within most states, an Office of Attorney General is available, providing protection for consumers among its other responsibilities. Still, some cases may require further attention, warranting a need for private help. Consumers whose rights have been violated are advised to contact the Better Business Bureau or consumer lawyers.
