Consumer Rights Law

Like other rights granted by law, your legal rights as a consumer cannot be taken away. When participating in various forms of business, consumer rights law provides legal protection from businesses or individuals that may engage in unlawful practices. Generally speaking, this concept is expressed in individual the laws of all types of businesses, including product liability, car sales, warranties, lending, and insurance. So when entering into the market as a consumer, it is important that you know and recognize what consumer rights law has to offer.

Your rights consist of much more than just quality products and service. According to the Consumer Bill of Rights, you have six basic rights, each of which are protected individually in the laws of each area of business or commerce. These rights are the right to safety, the right to education, the right to information, the right to service, the right to be heard, and the right to choose what they purchase. In few circumstances can a business or company deny these basic rights that have been set out. If you think you have been a victim to unlawful business practices, be sure to get in contact with your local consumer protection agency to file a complaint.
