Consumers Rights

Among other rights granted by federal law, citizens in the United States also possess consumer rights, unalienable rights which allow them to participate in the US market without becoming a victim to various scams. There are a few basic consumers rights granted by federal law that consumers should be particularly aware of. With certain exceptions, these rights apply to almost any business practice, whether lending, buying, or renting. By knowing and understanding these basic rights, consumers can be wary of businesses that may be overstepping their bounds, and at that point, can proceed to finding more information about their situation. The basic consumer rights, as spelled out in Kennedy's Consumer Bill of Rights, are sixfold - the right to be safe, the right to be heard, the right to choose freely, the right to be informed, the right to education, and the right to service.
