There are a variety of possible legal remedies available when you are injured by a product. The first issue you need to address is how you were injured. If the product was labeled in such a way to warn of the possibility of the injury, or you used it in a manner for which it was not designed, or in a manner that would foreseeably lead to the injury, then you might not have grounds for a lawsuit. If the product had a defect, was designed in such a way that unexpected injury was likely, or did not have clear warning labels, then you might have grounds for a lawsuit.
If the injury is the result of a design flaw or a common defect, then there may already be a class action underway in which a group of injured people are suing the parties responsible for the product. You may also bring your own individual lawsuit based on product liability. Lastly, there are a variety of state and federal statutes designed to provide legal remedies to consumers injured by products, such as the federal Consumer Product Safety Act.
